Ansys Additive Print
Ansys Additive Print - Enterprise Metal Additive Manufacturing Simulation
Ansys Additive Print predicts the final shape, distortion, residual stress and support needs of metal parts built by laser powder bed fusion, so operators and designers can build parts right the first time instead of iterating on the machine.
Its capabilities are now delivered within Ansys Additive Suite, the complete Ansys additive manufacturing workflow.
Ansys Additive 2026 R1
- AM Build Sequence Controls: region-specific heating and cooling, and different process temperatures per material, in Ansys Mechanical - including EBM.
- DED updates: multi-axis G-code reading with tool orientation, custom bead cross-sections and direct geometry generation.
- Additive Process Parameter (AMPP) app: set up LPBF parameter studies and compare bead behaviour, porosity and microstructure in one table.

Ansys Mechanical Enterprise
Ansys Additive Suite, which carries the Additive Print workflow, is available as an add-on to the Ansys Mechanical Enterprise licence.
Distortion, Residual Stress and Recoater Crash Prediction
Rapid checks show where a build will distort or carry high stress and strain, and predict recoater blade crash risk. Fidelity ranges from quick estimates to detailed thermal analysis.
Compensated Geometry, Supports and Build Orientation
Distortion results drive compensated geometry so the printed part lands on its nominal shape, and orientation heat maps help choose build orientation and support layout.
Common Additive Manufacturing Consultation Topics
- Build distortion: predicting and compensating distortion in metal parts.
- Support strategy: support layout and build orientation.
- Build failure risk: recoater crash and high-stress regions.
