Ansys Additive Suite
Ansys Additive Suite - Enterprise Additive Manufacturing Simulation Software
Ansys Additive Suite gives access to every Ansys additive manufacturing capability: part geometry and data preparation, print process simulation and scientific analysis of materials. It spans the whole workflow, from design for additive manufacturing (DfAM) through validation, print design and process simulation to material exploration.
Designers, engineers and analysts use it to avoid build failures and produce parts that conform to their specification.
Ansys Additive Suite 2026 R1
- AM Build Sequence Controls: region-specific heating and cooling, and different process temperatures per material, in Ansys Mechanical - including EBM.
- DED updates: multi-axis G-code reading with tool orientation, custom bead cross-sections and direct geometry generation.
- Additive Process Parameter (AMPP) app: set up LPBF parameter studies and compare bead behaviour, porosity and microstructure in one table.

Ansys Mechanical Enterprise
Additive Suite is available as an add-on to the Ansys Mechanical Enterprise licence.
Design for AM with Topology and Lattice Optimisation
Topology and lattice optimisation create lightweight designs suited to additive processes, validated with structural and thermal analysis.
Powder Bed Fusion and Directed Energy Deposition Simulation
Metal powder bed fusion process simulation predicts distortion and residual stress for a build, and directed energy deposition workflows simulate the deposition path.
Melt Pool, Porosity and Microstructure Prediction
Scientific analysis predicts melt pool behaviour, porosity and microstructure, so process parameters can be explored before machine trials.
Common Additive Manufacturing Consultation Topics
- Redesign for AM: lightweighting with topology and lattice optimisation.
- Build simulation: distortion and residual stress for metal builds.
- Process parameters: density and porosity trends across parameter sets.
- Material qualification: simulation alongside test programmes.
