Ansys AVxcelerate - Autonomous Vehicle Simulation and Validation Software

Ansys AVxcelerate is a modular, model-based simulation toolchain for validating ADAS and autonomous driving functions at L2+, L3 and above. AVxcelerate Autonomy combines statistical analysis with simulation at scale, automating scenario exploration to demonstrate, and continuously re-validate, the safety of ADAS/AD software and systems.

It is cloud-native for continuous testing and built on an open architecture that fits existing toolchains.

Ansys AVxcelerate 2026 R1

• Light Propagation Engine (LPE): new real-time, physically accurate camera simulation, including multispectral sensing in bright and adverse conditions.
• NVIDIA Omniverse asset preparation: Omniverse is now built into AVxcelerate, speeding up digital twin creation for scenario testing.
• Radar antenna placement: a visual helper in the Sensors Lab for positioning and checking complex radar sensors.

Scenario Variation, Sensitivity and Reliability Analysis

Scenario parameters are varied across the operational design domain using grid sampling, Latin hypercube or Monte Carlo methods, to tune ADAS/AD parameters and estimate the probability of failure. Adaptive sampling greatly reduces the number of simulations needed for safety validation.

ASAM OpenX Interoperability

Scenarios use the ASAM OpenSCENARIO and OpenDRIVE formats, and simulation data is exchanged through the ASAM Open Simulation Interface (OSI), so AVxcelerate works with existing driving simulators and tools.

AVxcelerate is modular: Autonomy for scenario-based safety validation, Sensors for physics-based camera, LiDAR, radar and thermal sensor simulation, and Headlamp for intelligent lighting.
