Ansys AVxcelerate Sensors - AV Sensor Simulation Software
Ansys AVxcelerate Sensors provides physically accurate, real-time simulation of camera, LiDAR, radar and thermal camera sensors for testing ADAS and autonomous system perception. Engineers enrich perception test cases with synthetic data and test in software-in-the-loop (SiL) or hardware-in-the-loop (HiL) set-ups as the design matures.
It is driving-simulator agnostic and open to any workflow.
Ansys AVxcelerate Sensors 2026 R1
- Light Propagation Engine (LPE): new real-time, physically accurate camera simulation, including multispectral sensing in bright and adverse conditions.
- NVIDIA Omniverse asset preparation: Omniverse is now built into AVxcelerate, speeding up digital twin creation for scenario testing.
- Radar antenna placement: a visual helper in the Sensors Lab for positioning and checking complex radar sensors.

Physics-Based Camera, LiDAR, Radar and Thermal Models
Multispectral light transport and wave propagation produce raw sensor data, including radar multi-bounce and Doppler effects and LiDAR point clouds with material reflectivity, under weather such as rain, fog and snow.
Software- and Hardware-in-the-Loop Testing
Real-time performance supports multi-sensor simulation in SiL and HiL configurations, with data injection into sensor ECUs and perception hardware.
Ground Truth and Sensor Artefacts
Ground truth such as semantic segmentation and depth maps supports machine-learning training, and sensor artefacts such as rolling shutter, noise and lens soiling test the robustness of perception.
