Ansys BladeModeler - 3D Blade Design Software

Ansys BladeModeler is 3D blade design software for all varieties of rotating machinery. From a few parameters such as pressure ratio, mass flow and rotational speed, its 1D mean-line tools generate a starting geometry and aerodynamic performance estimates, which are then refined into a full 3D blade.

BladeModeler comprises the BladeGen and BladeEditor tools, gives complete 3D geometry control, and imports non-bladed components from all major CAD systems.

Two NDF export options in BladeGen: export the newer profile-point format for BladeBuilder, or the traditional camber-line and thickness format for BladeEditor.
BladeBuilder licensing: when TurboGrid runs BladeBuilder to build a CAD model from an NDF file, it shares the TurboGrid licence.

1D Mean-Line Design to 3D Blade Geometry

Designs are defined as a series of 2D sketches on span-wise layers, with turbo-designer controls for blade angle and thickness, which generate the full 3D geometry immediately. Flank milling can be controlled for manufacturability.

Workbench Integration with Vista TF, TurboGrid and CFD

BladeModeler is fully integrated into Ansys Workbench. Designs pass to Ansys Vista TF for throughflow analysis, to Ansys TurboGrid for meshing, and on to CFD and structural analysis, so the complete design process runs in one environment.
