More People. Less Than Full Potential.

Ringelmann Effect chart: as team size grows, observed output falls below potential through coordination overhead and motivation drop
The Ringelmann Effect: as teams grow, output falls short of potential.

In 1913, French agricultural engineer Max Ringelmann published one of the first studies of group performance. In his summary figures, a group of eight reached just 49% of the combined output of eight people working alone (Ringelmann, 1913, reproduced in Kravitz & Martin, 1986, Table 2). Psychologists later named one cause of this social loafing: people tend to ease off when their own effort disappears into the group's. In 1981, Williams, Harkins and Latané showed in two cheering experiments that social loafing disappeared when participants believed their individual output could be identified. Clear ownership and visible progress are exactly what a CRM should give your team.
