Ansys Lumerical INTERCONNECT - Enterprise Photonic Integrated Circuit Design Software

Ansys Lumerical INTERCONNECT is a design environment for classical and quantum photonic integrated circuits (PICs). It verifies multimode, bidirectional and multichannel circuits, with electronic-photonic co-design and co-simulation and design workflows such as schematic-driven layout, LVS and DRC across multiple EDA platforms.

Its PDK-driven platform helps designers create manufacturable photonic designs that account for the associated electronics, packaging and links.

• Synopsys OptoCompiler interop: select INTERCONNECT as the photonic circuit simulator in Synopsys PrimeWave.
• PyLumerical: Python automation across FDTD, MODE, Multiphysics and INTERCONNECT, compatible with the PyAnsys ecosystem.
• Simulation speed: faster runs and lower memory use for complex circuits such as WDM architectures.

Mixed-signal, multimode, multichannel and bidirectional circuits are simulated, including a travelling-wave laser model and a dedicated quantum photonic circuit simulator.

Automation and Multiphysics Workflows

An automation API supports Lumerical scripting, Python and MATLAB, and multiphysics workflows address packaging and thermal management.
