FEA 209 - Ansys AQWA Floating, Lifting, Launch & Offload Analysis Training
Advanced Level Training - 2 days (16 hours)
About Ansys AQWA Floating, Lifting, Launch & Offload Analysis Training by CADIT
In-depth Ansys AQWA hydrodynamic analysis for Oil & Gas: floating, lifting, launch and offload operations using 3D diffraction and radiation methods, co-simulation with Rigid Dynamics, Python scripting, RAOs and load mapping for platforms, jackets and spars.
Perfect for Offshore and Oil & Gas structural engineers.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of this training, you will be able to:
1. Understand the basics of Ansys AQWA, including model preparation, geometry setup, and meshing.
2. Perform hydrodynamic simulations for wave and current interactions.
3. Generate Response Amplitude Operators (RAOs) and evaluate vessel responses.
4. Apply pressure mapping and load transfer techniques for structural integrity checks.
5. Use Python scripting for customized load applications in hands-on workshops.
6. Execute loadout analyses for safe transport and positioning of offshore structures.
7. Set up and analyze jacket launch operations, accounting for hydrodynamic forces and stability.
8. Conduct offloading simulations for safe transfer of loads or fluids between vessels and platforms.
9. Perform floatover analyses to model topside module mating onto floating substructures with dynamic response evaluation.
