Ansys Academic Education & Research
Ansys Academic - Simulation Software for Educators and Researchers
Ansys Academic licensing gives universities the same solvers industry runs, priced for teaching and research. Graduates learn on the software their employers use, research does not stall when a model outgrows the licence, and industry partnerships run on a licence that covers them.
We match the licence to how a department actually teaches and researches, across Malaysia, Singapore and Southeast Asia.

Ansys Academic for Educators
Academic Teaching bundles put industry-standard simulation into lectures and labs: seat packs of 5, 25 or 50 with 4 parallel cores built into every seat, coursework across structures, fluids, thermal, electronics, optics, photonics, materials, systems and missions, and no cap on problem size, so coursework can use real models.
Ansys Academic for Researchers
- Academic Research: full solver capability for faculty, postgraduate and doctoral research, with 4 built-in cores per seat plus 12 floating HPC cores per research task (15 for LS-DYNA).
- Academic Associate: the same products as Research, for non-proprietary work alongside industry partners.
- Academic Research HPC: scaling beyond the built-in cores on university clusters with Ansys HPC, Rocky HPC, LS-DYNA HPC and OPTIS HPC.
Bundles by Discipline and the Campus Solution
Bundles cover Structures and Fluids (Mechanical, CFD, or both), Thermal Systems, Electronics (Suite, High Frequency and Electric Machines), Optics, Photonics, Systems (SCADE), Materials (Granta), Missions (STK), Connect and a CAD Toolbox. The Multiphysics Campus Solution puts nearly every Ansys product, for both teaching and research, on one agreement with extra HPC, named by seat count; for most faculties it is more cost-effective than buying discipline by discipline. The Ansys Academic Product Reference Guide (PDF) lists every bundle and HPC allowance.
Choosing the Right Tier
Academic licences carry clear rules on use: a thesis run on a Teaching licence, or a sponsored project on the wrong tier, can fall outside the terms. We confirm the right tier before anything is ordered.
Common Academic Licensing Consultation Topics
- Course bundle selection: matching bundles to the subjects taught.
- Research licence scoping: Research, Associate and HPC for a group's projects.
- Campus Solution sizing: seat counts across teaching and research.
- Lab deployment: licence servers and lab installation.
