Ansys Fluent
Ansys Fluent - Enterprise Fluid Simulation Software
Ansys Fluent is general-purpose CFD software for problems where flow, heat or chemistry determine whether a design performs. Will a heat sink hold a chip below its limit? Will a burner meet its emissions target? Will a tank mix in time? Fluent answers these questions in simulation, before anything is built.
Turbulence, heat transfer, multiphase and reacting flow are handled in a single solver and a single-window workflow. Fluent is licensed through the Ansys CFD plans, and the right plan depends on your physics and model sizes, which is where we begin every engagement.
Ansys Fluent 2026 R1
- Fluent GPU solver: volume of fluid (VOF) with energy and sliding mesh now run on GPU, for faster multiphase simulations such as mixing and rotating machinery.
- Combustion on GPU: chemistry acceleration delivers up to 2-3x faster solves for stiff reaction mechanisms.
- Hybrid precision: lower GPU memory use at the same accuracy, so larger simulations fit on fewer GPUs.

Fluent Applications: Cooling, Process, Combustion and Batteries
- Electronics and e-motor cooling: airflow and conjugate heat transfer through enclosures, heat sinks and motors cooled by air, water or spray.
- Process equipment: stirred tanks, mixers, separators and sprays.
- Combustion and emissions: burners, furnaces and reacting flows, using validated combustion models.
- Aerodynamics and HVAC: vehicles, fans, ducts and building ventilation.
- Batteries: electrochemistry and thermal management, with reduced-order models for system studies.
Multiphase Physics, GEKO Turbulence and Task-Based Meshing
Few industrial problems involve a single fluid phase. Fluent models gas-liquid, liquid-liquid and gas-solid flows, boiling and condensation, free surfaces with volume of fluid (VOF), and heat moving through solids and fluids together. The GEKO turbulence model has tunable coefficients, so it can be calibrated to a given class of flow.
Task-based meshing workflows take both clean and imperfect CAD to a solver-ready mesh, and meshing and solving both run in parallel. For fluid-structure interaction, Fluent works alongside Ansys Mechanical.
Fluent Native Multi-GPU Solver
Fluent's native multi-GPU solver runs cases on graphics cards rather than CPU cores, and on large meshes it can reduce an overnight run to a same-day result. Not every model benefits equally, so we recommend benchmarking representative cases before investing in hardware.
Common CFD Consultation Topics
- Cleanroom airflow: air change rates, airflow direction, pressure differentials and particle concentration against the cleanroom class.
- Data centre and server room cooling: rack inlet temperatures, hot spots and cooling capacity.
- HVAC and building ventilation: air distribution, thermal comfort and fresh-air effectiveness.
- Electronics enclosure cooling: fan, vent and heat sink layout against component temperature limits.
- Pumps, fans and mixing vessels: flow rate, pressure drop and mixing performance.

Ansys Fluent FAQ
Do I need a GPU to run Ansys Fluent?
No. Fluent runs on standard CPUs. The GPU solver is an option for supported models where run time is critical.
Can we evaluate Fluent before buying?
Yes. Ansys offers a free 30-day Fluent trial, and our CFD team can help set up a first model during the evaluation.
