Ansys HFSS
Ansys HFSS - Enterprise 3D High Frequency Simulation Software
Ansys HFSS is the industry-standard 3D electromagnetic simulation software for RF, microwave and high-speed electronic components. Antennas, connectors, filters and PCBs are its core applications, and automatic adaptive meshing is the reason engineers rely on its results without manual mesh tuning.
Teams use HFSS early in the design cycle to reduce EMC risk and avoid costly prototypes. Encrypted 3D components let suppliers share detailed models without exposing their IP, and multipaction analysis supports aerospace and satellite hardware.
Ansys HFSS 2026 R1
- HFSS-PI: a new broadband 3D power integrity solver for IC, package and board power delivery networks.
- GPU Acceleration with cuDSS (beta): GPU-solved frequency sweeps with multi-node distribution for larger models.
- Omega Mesher: fast, reliable meshing of complex rigid-flex PCBs in HFSS 3D Layout, using less memory.

Ansys Electronics Pro 2D
2D low-frequency electromagnetic and electromechanical analysis, 2D parameter extraction, RF interference analysis and circuit simulation, including Maxwell 2D, RMxprt, PExprt and the 2D Extractor.
Installed Antenna and Phased Array Simulation
Design the antenna, then evaluate it on the actual product: a vehicle, a drone, a handset or a base station. HFSS reports pattern, gain and efficiency in the installed environment. Phased arrays are modelled from a unit cell, covering infinite and finite arrays with mutual coupling and edge effects, and platforms carrying several antennas can be checked for interference.
RF Components and High-Speed Channel Extraction
Filters, couplers, baluns and power dividers are solved in full 3D, and high-speed channels are characterised for insertion loss, return loss and crosstalk, with S-parameters passed directly to circuit simulation. HFSS 3D Layout works directly on PCB and package geometry.
Common RF and EM Consultation Topics
- Antenna design and placement: antenna performance on vehicles, devices and IoT products.
- Radar and 5G arrays: array design for radar and wireless systems.
- RF filters and components: filter, coupler and connector performance.
- High-speed interconnects: signal loss and crosstalk on connectors and PCBs.
- EMC pre-compliance: emission and interference risks before testing.
